Privacy Policy
Sprigg (“we”, “the app”) is a personal expense tracker for iPhone. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
Information we store
Sprigg stores your money data on your device, including accounts (including savings pots), transactions (including transfers between accounts), budgets, recurring rules, custom categories, and display preferences (such as your name, language, and currency preference).
In this version, Sprigg does not upload your financial data to Sprigg servers.
Exchange rates
To convert between currencies, Sprigg may request public exchange-rate data from the Frankfurter API (frankfurter.dev). Those requests include only currency codes and dates — not your accounts, balances, or transactions. Rates are cached on your device for offline use. You can set manual rate overrides in Settings.
Voice expense logging
If you use voice logging (Sprigg Pro), Sprigg uses the microphone and on-device speech recognition to turn what you say into a draft transaction you can review before saving. Audio is processed for recognition on your device; Sprigg does not upload your recordings to Sprigg servers.
Notifications
If you enable them, Sprigg schedules local notifications on your device for spend reminders, budget alerts, and recurring transaction confirmation reminders. You can turn these off anytime in Sprigg Settings or iOS Settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Apple may share limited purchase status (for example, whether Sprigg Pro is active) so the app can unlock Pro features.
Export, backup, import, and reset
You can export a CSV of transactions (Sprigg Pro), create an encrypted .spriggbackup file protected by a password you choose (Sprigg Pro), or import CSV / backup files (import is free). Export and backup create files you choose to save or share; Sprigg does not send those files to our servers. Clearing money data from Settings removes on-device money records but does not delete backup files you already saved in Files.
Website support form
If you send a message from the Support page, we receive your name, email address, topic, and message so we can reply. Form delivery is handled by FormSubmit on our behalf. We use that information only to respond to your request.
Third parties
App Store distribution and In-App Purchases are provided by Apple under Apple’s privacy practices. Exchange-rate lookups may contact Frankfurter as described above. The website support form is delivered by FormSubmit.
Children
Sprigg is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, if cloud sync is added later). The “Last updated” date above will change when we do.
